Lyra and Justin were so much fun, they had a simply awesome wedding day at The Riverplace Hotel on the downtown Portland waterfront. Their family and bridal party was the best. For the groomsmen, they didn’t have flower boutonnieres, they wore Hand of the King pins from Game of Thrones. And did the guys play poker while they waited? Nope — they played Exploding Kittens. Party favors were air plants, and guests were encouraged to bring LP records as gifts. Someone even brought in a vinyl of an older Silverstein — seeing that artwork in the gift box took me back to my own times as a college radio DJ. So… much… fun! As a couple, Lyra and Justin are perfect together. They are so comfortable with one another and I couldn’t be happier for them. My favorite part of the entire day was seeing Lyra and Justin — along with all four of their parents — dress up and hit up the photo booth together. Lyra’s mother wore giant sunglasses and a viking helmet. In all of my weddings I have never seen a couple have a blast in the photo booth with their parents like that. It was magic.
