Photobooths have become all the rage at weddings. They are great for multiple reasons: you get more images of your guests, they get to do something fun (other than dancing!) and get fun photos of themselves from the event! The Powers staff had a blast in Photobooth For You‘s booth at the Portland Bridal Show and think they would be a great choice for anyone looking to set up a photobooth during their cocktail hour and reception! Below are some questions we asked them about their company:
When were you founded?
Photobooth For You was unofficially founded in 2009. Having to pay for their own wedding, Hythum and Kassi Ismail found they could not afford all the extras they wanted, such a photo booth rental. With a lot of trial and tons of error, Hythum built a photo booth from the ground up and used it at his wedding in August 2009. Several friends/guests from their wedding asked to borrow it for their wedding. Friends of those friends asked to rent it. By early spring 2010, complete strangers were asking if they could rent it. By summer 2010, Hythum built an additional booth after making some new upgrades to the first generation booth. Hythum created a sole proprietorship and began renting out the two booths. With two booths going strong for 2010 and 2011, he decided it was time to expand. In early 2012, he hired 3 employees and built 3 new booths and put them into service. Hythum retired the two original booths and commissioned a vending/gaming manufacturer to build a new retro style booth. At the end of wedding season 2012 Hythum took on a business partner and formed an LLC. Heading into the 2013 event season, Photobooth now employs 5 people and run 6 booths. There are new booths currently being designed and will be put into rotation this year.

What sets you apart from other vendors in your category?
Photobooth For You is a locally owned and operated company. We offer all-inclusive rentals including on-site prints and attendants at no additional charge. We offer customization of logos and print layouts by our in house graphic designer and do not charge extra for it. We do everything we can to make our product high quality, affordable, and completely “yours.”
Why did you get into weddings?
We absolutely love weddings because everyone is there to celebrate. Everyone is happy. We try to expand on that happiness by helping folks out of their shells and letting loose with fun and sometimes silly photos. In a photo booth, even a bad photo is good!
What is your favorite part about weddings?
Of course we’d want to say a photo booth! But in reality, a wedding is composite of numerous activities, vendors, and artisans. The memories, smiles, laughter, and sometime tears are our favorite part of weddings.
What advice would you give to a couple planning their wedding?
Our advice is to always shop around. You need to feel comfortable with the person or company that is going to be a part of your big day. Just because someone is the least expensive does not make them cheap. Just because someone is the most expensive does not make them the best. You are about to embark on a new journey and the best way to do that is by being confident about what you’ve decided on. Make it a team effort and then when it’s all over, you can look back with pure pleasure and say “Look what we did!”

We used Photobooth For You for our wedding a few weeks ago… and they were FANTASTIC! People attending our wedding were so excited and there was a line to snap pics all night long.
One fun idea PFY suggested was to use the pictures for our guest book (since each time you enter the booth it prints two). We loved that idea and it makes looking back at our guest book so much fun.
We went with a pretty basic option (just a standard photobooth set up), however I was super impressed with all of the new technologies and options like video messaging.
Their service and communication was also great… the set-up/take-down at the event was super smooth, getting all of the details worked out was easy, and we quickly got all of our photos on a CD. All in all, we highly recommend them!
What a fantastic company! I got to experience the magic at the Bridgeport Brewpub Christmas party and it was a total blast. They offer a fun assortment of props, such as hats, glasses, wigs and boas and the zaniness never wore off. After giggling through my first picture and having the instant gratification of my fun captured, I was hooked. The almost instant print produces two pictures, no need to fight over who gets it. This photobooth is a great addition to any party, wedding, birthday or celebration, it’s guaranteed to capture memorable moments for your guests at an affordable price. Photobooth For You pricing ranges from $595 on up, depending on type of booth and the amount of time of the rental.

Photobooth For You offers a minimum of 5% Off any rental for Powers couples. Greater discounts can be attained for numerous reasons including the date, the length of the rental, and other mutual agreements.

Do you travel outside of PDX for weddings? If so how far and is there a fee?
Photobooth For You travels just about anywhere. Any event that is within a 30 mile round-trip from Portland city center is FREE. Our standard mileage for 2013 is 79¢/mile outside of the free zone.
