I made the long drive out to meet Kari and Lars in Pacific City for a really special engagement shoot. I’d never been to Pacific City before, and I seized the opportunity to shoot in someplace new. Needless to say I was stunned by its beauty. After such a wet spring so far, it was great to be treated to a first rate sunset on the coast.
Kari and Lars are really great, easy going and have great chemistry together. They could tell I was really excited about the shots, so I can’t help but share a few. It got pretty cold and windy as the light got lower, but Kari and Lars were absolute troopers about it! I’d been wanting to try sunset shots with my lighting gear on the coast for quite some time. You can capture great sunset shots, but in order to get folks clearly pictured in the foreground you really need a good fill light in cases like this. Matching light with light really gives things that pop!
