Calvin & Mackenzie

We up here in the Northwest are weird. You know that thing about keeping Portland Weird….well….we are. Take for instance our toleration of weather. It seems like our wheel house of tolerable weather lies somewhere between 75 and 78 degrees, clear to cloudy skies with a slight and I mean slight breeze. Anything that varies from that is too cold or too hot or too breezy or too rainy etc, etc. Let’s face it…we are weather snobs. Admitting that there’s a problem is knowing that there’s a problem and knowing is half the battle. With all this being said..Calvin and Mackenzie’s wedding was HAWT. I mean like 90 degrees in the shade hot. According to us well meaning Northwesterners it might as well been a wedding held on the surface of the sun. While the collective citizens of Portland were melting, we at wedding of Calvin and Mackenzie were just fine. Why? Sometimes people are so cool they cause their surroundings to match their personality it’s known to some as the laying down of a vibe. The vibe at the Foundry was awesome. Calvin and Mackenzie’s friends and family were there for a celebration of a great couple and everybody brought their A game. Calvin looked pretty slick in his dark gray suit but his reaction to Mackenzie after seeing her for the first time in her wedding dress let it be known who won the style contest that day. During the ceremony…the heat may have gotten to Calvin and a couple of folks because there was some eye dabbing going on you know because of the “sweat” in their eyes. The reception was great. A couple of tear filled, laughter filled speeches from Nick and Erica, Marshall, Tom and CeCe. Some fun 1st dances and bouquet and football garter toss. The day went by too fast maybe because we were all having fun. A march down a tunnel of sparklers and just like that, Mr. and Mrs. Wright rode off into the night….and came right back because someone forgot Calvin’s stuff, whoops. It was a privilege to document Calvin and Mackenzie’s wedding day. Congrats guys! Quick shout out to the Foundry and Premiere Catering for bringing their A game like they always do. Salud!
