What a wonderful couple to spend New Year’s Eve with shooting their wedding. Samantha and Matt are truly great together — funny, caring and loving. The day flowed really well, starting at The Paramount Hotel in downtown Portland, then moving up several blocks to the West End Ballroom for the ceremony and reception. Oh, let’s not forget about Matt and his groomsmen playing an epic chess match with the giant sized board across the street in Director’s Park.
Bringing in the New Year has traditionally been a quiet affair for my family, so it really has been an amazing experience shooting weddings on New Years Eve. You simply can’t match the excitement and energy level as the clock strikes midnight. Congratulations again Samantha and Matt, it was wonderful being part of your big day!
