Kaitlyn & Andrew

“Soccer Player Marries Ballerina!”

Wouldn’t that be a cool headline to see printed? Well it was the truth for Andrew and Kaitlyn. Can you guess who the ballerina is of the two? ;) (I’m sure everyone is picturing Andrew in a tutu right about now. Sorry, Andrew!)

The day was spectacular! The ceremony was held in Abernethy’s Veiled Gardens, an intimate setting tucked in the hills. Kaitlyn’s sister brought tears to everyone’s eyes with her dedicated song during the ceremony.

I found out that the rings they both wore were from Kaitlyn’s mom’s store, Diamonds By The Sea (locations in Newport and Lincoln City). Kaitlyn wore an exquisite yellow diamond and Andrew’s ring was made of myrtlewood, a very unique wood and that which is said in the Bible to represent fertility and life. Beautiful!

Kaitlyn carried on a family tradition by carrying a bible down the aisle in her hands. She’s the 4th (or is it 5th?) generation to do so! Not only was this an extremely meaningful tradition of the family, but it was a really sweet change from the usual bouquet. Such significance! I loved it!

An easily forgotten moment that I wanted to share was when it came time for Andrew to dance with his mother. She was shoeless at the moment and a little embarrassed to get on the dance floor barefoot. Without any hesitation, Andrew kicked off his shoes and danced in his socks so that his mom wouldn’t be the only one. Most guests probably saw it as a humorous moment, which it definitely was, but I also viewed that small act as such a perfect representation of Andrew’s love for his family and willingness to do anything if it meant bringing them some happiness.

Lastly, the greatest moment of ALL had to be the surprise roast Kaitlyn’s sisters gave. IN SONG! It was the best I’d ever witnessed and had everyone laughing so hard they cried. I hope someone got that on video because you girls rocked!

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. St. Evermer. ;) Heehee.
