It was a joy shooting photos for Melissa and John. I’ll always remember them as the couple who love chasing sunsets. I’m really glad we were able to catch some great light for their earlier engagement shoot.
The wedding day was held at the Veiled Garden at Abernethy Center. The lighting was great, and the setting beautiful.
One of my favorite moments from the day was John playing and recording a song he wrote for Melissa, on an ukulele no less. As a side note, I’m happy to report that my ukulele tuning skills came in handy (I’ve got your back, John!). John seemed a bit shy in playing it, but there was no need, he was great, with a very laid back, Jack Johnson style cadence. On hand for the day were the talented folks from Glitch Films, who helped record John singing.
Melissa looked absolutely stunning in her dress. I’d say John was pretty wow’d at first look, and for good reason. It’s rare that I see a couple so connected and comfortable with one another and it was great being there to capture that bond.
Congratulations again to you both, here’s to many more great sunsets on your honeymoon in Hawaii, and in the future!
