Chance & Lindsay

Some say everything is bigger in Texas. I find that to be true because not only the skies are bigger, the roads are bigger, the stars are bigger and the cowboy hats are bigger. After shooting Lindsay and Chance’s wedding, I now find that laughter, love and friendship are bigger in Texas too. Both families were so much fun and I have to admit, I kind of dig the Texas accent….I mean, I’ve been working on mine for years and can’t quite get it. It sounds like a cross between a Jamaican/Irish with a hint of Surfer accent so I got a ways to go. It’s funny that Lindsay, being from the Northwest totally picked up a little southern drawl too. One of the things that struck me during the day was actually the speech of Trace, Chance’s brother. He addressed Lindsay’s parents and told them not to worry about their daughter being so far away…that no matter what, if needed, his family had Lindsay’s back and would drive wherever, whenever to take care of her. I know, sound doesn’t really translate well in a written post but by the sound of his voice, there is NO doubt in my mind that he meant every word he said to them and it was so moving. Another thing he said which was hilarious and I quote, ”We’re from Texas, we’ve never seen anything like this in the Northwest…so if you see us starting off into the distance, we’re not slow…we’ve just never seen anything like that before”. The weather even coordinated and was a little Texasy being 90 plus. One clue on how cool people are is the way people talk/interact with them. Everyone..I mean everyone was so happy to see Lindsay and talks of the Schiely laugh and hugs were running rampant. I agree whole heartedly…Lindsay and Chance’s family treated me like a friend the second I said hello and I totally got to experience the Schiely hug and laugh all day long. It was such a great day…such a great day and I wish nothing but the best to Lindsay and Chance!
