You’ve never met a DIY bride and groom until now. The joke of the day was ”what DIDN’T you make?!” This was due to the fact that both Allison and Ryan are extremely artistic people. They are creative and innovative and they had a gorgeous vision for their wedding day that was carried out perfectly.
Allison MADE the wedding cake with her mom. It had pumpkin and brown butter layers (umm, YUM!). She also MADE the groomsmen’s ties, the clutches for her bridesmaids, the jam favors, the florals, the salted caramel ice cream dessert, and surely a whole lot more. But I can’t stop there. Ryan is extremely talented as well. He created the Save the Dates, the invitations, the wedding programs, the monogrammed napkins and stickers for the centerpieces, the ring bearer’s lunchbox, and more. UNREAL, RIGHT?! These two are amazing!
Oh, and did I mention one of the coolest creations of all? The wedding took place on Allison’s uncle’s property, in a barn that he built for their wedding!!! Wow!!
There was so much behind the scenes help going on from family and friends for this wedding. What that says to me is that these two are extremely sweet and thoughtful people that care so much for those around them and therefore they received that love and care right back.
Another very unique and memorable part of their wedding (I know — you’re thinking, ”More? Seriously?” Yes. Tons more!) was that they had a Unity TREE during their ceremony. They combined soil from Allison’s family home and Ryan’s family home around a tree that they will plant and grow at their new home together. They had their mothers water the tree which was a great symbol of love and support for their new marriage and growth together. I absolutely loved this part of their wedding. But I loved the whole day in it’s entirety! Ryan and Allison have amazing friends and family. The day could not have been better! Congratulations, Ryan & Allison! #ohmygerdes ;)
