When were you founded?
Bridal Bliss was started in 2002 by Nora Sheils. After graduating from Gonzaga University with a degree in Psychology & Business and working several years in the bridal industry, she decided it was time to take her expertise to the next level. Bridal Bliss opened its doors for business and has since expanded and risen through the ranks as one of Portland’s top event planning firms.
What your company does/specializes in?
We have nine different lead coordinators on staff and can really service a wide range of wedding styles and personalities. We love weddings that are a true representation of the couple and include unique touches.
What sets you apart from other coordinators?
Bridal Bliss is the most “decorated” planning firm in Portland having been named “Portland’s Best Wedding Planner” and “Portland’s Best All Around Wedding Vendor” through Oregon Bride Magazine’s Best of Bride awards for the past four consecutive years. Beyond all that, we love to have fun and work as a team to serve our clients. Our planners go above and beyond to ensure our couples are thrilled and our events are expertly executed.
Why did you get into weddings?
There is something magical about weddings and the engagement period. We love being a part of such a special time in our client’s lives and helping to bring their visions to fruition. Plus…we get to attend a fabulous party every weekend!
What is your favorite part about weddings?
Each of our coordinators has a different answer for this (check out some fun q&a on our blog!) but one that several have mentioned is that one moment before the bride walks down the aisle. It is so full of emotion and happiness, and we still tear up. We also love the toasts!
What advice would you give to a couple planning their wedding?
Don’t sweat the small stuff and trust your vendors. You’ve hired each of your wedding professionals for a reason so let them do what they do best without being micro-managed Of course, we also highly recommend hiring a planner whether you have someone with you throughout the entire planning process, or just those last few months. Having a professional to keep you on track, solve dilemmas and serve as a sounding board can be a huge asset. Best of all, we save many of our clients more than we cost through vendor discounts. You can’t afford not to!

What is your average pricing?
Our pricing starts at $1550 for Day-Of Planning. We also have more extensive Partial Planning and Full Service Planning options. Check out our website for more detail.
What discount do you give to Powers couples?
We love working with Powers clients and offer a minimum $50 discount. That amount goes up depending on the package. Contact us for more info!

Do you travel outside of PDX for weddings? If so how far, and is there a fee?
Absolutely—we love to travel! This year alone we coordinated weddings in Mexico, Napa, Hawaii and Seattle. There is no limit on how far we will travel, but a fee will be associated with our package depending on the location.
